The amount of twist depends on your wrist position, and may vary from one finger to another. Wear the finger picks so that only the pick touches the string, not your finger. If the fingers touch the string, they tend to affect the sound. Adjusting the size and shape for a custom fit: The size and shape of the picks can be adjusted for custom fit for each individual finger with the aid of hot water. Use this procedure at your own risk. Dip the pick (or the part that is to be modified) briefly in hot water with tongs. Avoid too long exposure to hot water, so that the pick does not lose its structure. Take the pick out of the water and make sure not to burn your fingers.
