Dig a narrow trench 6" deep around the perimeter of the flower bed, install Grass Barrier vertically and backfill the trench with soil to secure. Work in a linear fashion from one end to the other when back-filling, alternating sides when tamping the dirt to keep Grass Barrier straight and prevent waving. If the material needs to be cut or trimmed this can be done easily with a sharp utility knife. Depending on your exact installation this may be adjusted. Most transverse grass roots typically run in the first 6 inches of soil. Tip: Prior to installation, lay Grass Barrier out in the sun. This will relax the material making it easier to work with. Our long lasting barrier is made in the USA from 100% recycled HDPE. Grass Barrier is not brittle like injection molded material and does not splinter like fiber and composites.
